MPA postgraduate lounge

  • Register here for swipe card access to postgraduate spaces on Monash campuses, including the MPA lounge.

The MPA postgraduate lounge is one of three postgraduate-specific lounge and study spaces on Clayton campus. It is located on Level 1, Campus Centre, 21 Chancellors Walk, near the central staircase. The room has 24/7 swipe-card access for socialising, study, and group work. The MPA lounge’s facilities include:

  • a full kitchenette with microwaves, sandwich press and mini fridge
  • Daily tea, coffee, sugar and snack supplies
  • filtered water (hot and cold)
  • data projector for events
  • laptop charging lockers
  • daily newspapers
  • electric piano (Students wishing private piano practice can use their own headphones with the headphone converter plug located in a drawer in the kitchen - please replace after use).
  • Three small bookable meeting rooms for group work with AV facilities.

For after-hours access, enter the Campus Centre by the swipe-acces door located between Gusman Y Gomez and Paparich on the North Eastern side of Campus Centre.

Meeting rooms - MPA lounge

Need certainty of space for group meetings or participant interviews? The MPA meeting rooms in the lounge can be booked using your student google calendar.

When creating an event in your calendar you will see in the 'invite' area a rooms tab and select “Clayton" from the dropdown list. Select your chosen room and add it to your event.

Please limit bookings to a maximum 2 hour block.

Bookings need to comply with the same booking rules Please note that non-compliant bookings may be removed by Site Admin without notice.

All rooms have Av facilities including a large screen with HDMI connector ports.

Graduate Student Hub

The Graduate student hub is managed by the Monash Graduate Research Office. It is designed for all postgraduates to have a social and study space. This newly refurbished space is open 24/7 and is located on the ground floor of Campbell Hall, 21 Sports Walk. Facilities include:

  • a kitchenette with microwave and fridge
  • filtered water (hot and cold)
  • lounge area
  • study spaces
  • group meeting rooms with AV capabilities

PhD Hub

The PhD Hub is managed by the Monash Graduate Research Office. It is designed for PhD students to study, socialise, and provide hot desks for students writing-up. The PhD hub is open 7am - 12am and is located on the ground floor of Hollman Hall, 27 Sports Walk. Facilities include:

  • a kitchenette with microwave and fridge
  • filtered water (hot and cold)
  • lounge area
  • study spaces
  • Writing-up desks for end-stage PhD students
  • Hot desks for day study use

Hargrave-Andrew Library

The Hargrave-Andrew Library is located at 13 College Walk on Clayton campus. HAL supports students from the following faculties

  • Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Science

The Library offers workshops on a wide range of topics as well as drop-in sessions during semester.

The Library has subject specialist librarians who offer expert advice on finding and using information resources. Learning skills advisers can provide assistance with referencing and citation styles and academic writing skills

Law Library

The Law Library is located at 15 Ancora Imparo Way on Clayton campus. The Law library supports teaching and research for students in the following areas:

  • Faculty of Law
  • Department of Business Law
  • Taxation
  • other areas where law is the subject of teaching and research

The Library offers workshops on a wide range of topics as well as drop-in sessions during semester on both Clayton and at the Law Chambers.

Research consultations and specialist training sessions in using law databases and EndNote are available upon request - contact Law Library staff or ask at the information desk. Learning skills advisers can provide assistance with referencing and citation styles and academic writing skills
